The Sports Journalist Steve Jackson is very experienced and
has worked for a number of different companies in a variety
of media outputs. These are examples of some of SJ's most
recent work.
Radio:
SJ has covered the following football games, and many more,
in the past for various radio stations;
February
16, 2008:
Cardiff City 2 Wolves 0. The welsh side booked their place
in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, thanks to goals from
Peter Whittingham and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who scored
one of the goals of the round with a curling left foot shot
from 18 yards. All UK independent radio stations and RTE.
December 1, 2007:
Aston Villa 1 Arsenal 2. Arsene Wenger's team came from a
goal down to beat the midlands side on their own ground. The
first half performance from the Gunners was generally regarded
as one of the most complete displays by one team in recent
Premiership history. Arsenal were untouchable! All UK independent
radio stations and RTE.
September 15, 2007:
Chelsea 0 Blackburn Rovers 0. Jose Mourinho's last Premiership
game in charge of the Blues ends in stalemate, after Salomon
Kalou's late goal for Chelsea was wrongly disallowed for offside.
Four days later, following another home draw, this time against
Rosenborg in the Champions League, Mourinho left his post
as Chelsea boss by mutual consent. All UK independent radio
stations.

of already-relegated Luton Town on the final day of the season.
Sun FM and RTE.
March
18, 2007:
Aston Villa 0 Liverpool 0. My considered full time match report
on this game said everything. It started... "When the
fourth official at Villa Park put his board up to signal there
would only be two minutes of stoppage time, there was a collective
groin around this ground. Not because the Villa or Liverpool
fans felt they were being denied the opportunity to watch
some more Premiership football. No, it was because they would
have to put up with another 120 seconds of tedium. This match
was dreadful!" The worst football match I've seen for
a long time. All UK independent radio stations and RTE.
February
24, 2007:
Fulham v Manchester United. Despite a poor performance, Sir
Alex Ferguson's side triumphed 2-1 thanks to a 87th minute
goal from Christiano Ronaldo. Playing badly and still winning
and doing it with a late goal - the sign of champions. Perhaps
this was the day the 2006/7 Premiership crown went to Old
Trafford? All UK independent radio stations and RTE.
January
6, 2007:
Chelsea v Macclesfield Town. FA Cup Round 3. Blues boss Jose
Mourinho selected a strong team to play a Macclesfield Town
side who, under Paul Ince, had won all four games over the

in the first half, Chelsea romped to a 6-1 victory, thanks
to a hat-trick from Frank Lampard. Live full match commentary
for Silk FM.
