Anglian League

Northamptonshire’s men are hoping local knowledge comes in vital in the Anglian League this year as the first and second teams play all their games at Wellingborough and Kingsthorpe respectively for the second year in a row.
In an effort to make the most of home advantage, the NGL introduced a policy of holding all matches against their rival counties at the same course for two successive years.
The move almost paid immediate dividends last season as the first team went into the last game of the season top of the table, before suffering a narrow defeat away to Leicestershire, who they meet at home in the opening game this year.
Northamptonshire host Norfolk and Suffolk in their second and fourth Anglian League matches in 2018, in addition to playing away games at Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.
The county selectors will give the leading players two early opportunities to show their skills on the newly refurbished layout at Wellingborough as they hold friendly matches against Bedfordshire and Warwickshire in April.
