County Boys
The younger players in the Northamptonshire Boys team emphasised their strength of character in the friendly match with Cambridgeshire as they helped the side record a 13-6 victory at Overstone Park GC.
After the greensomes finished all square with wins for Isaac Redding and Harrison Taylor, Ben Atherton and Jake Richmond, and Mackenzie Warden and Adam Haywood, plus a half for Harry Smith and Kai Raymond, the hosts under-14s players lost three of the opening four singles games.
Raymond got the county going again with victory on the 18th, Redding added another home point before Taylor produced the moment of the match as he holed a putt from 60 feet on the 18th to clinch another win.
Ben Atherton moved Northants in front, Jadon Pham secured a half, before Northamptonshire’s under-12s took centre stage as James Attwood, Richmond, Jack Meakin, Ollie Walden, Warden and Haywood all bagged wins.
