Wellingborough

Past Seniors Captain Chris Dickens and Liz Palmer recorded their second mixed competition victory of the month at Wellingborough as they combined with Rod Gibbs, Carol Gibbs, Richard Briggs and Pat Briggs to win the late-January top prize with 99 points.

Tony Camsell, Neil Carter, Alan Stokes and Cliff Wymant were also successful in the Yellow Peril Team Competition as they bagged a winning tally of 164 points.

Dale Botterill, Paul Parkerson, Matthew Francklow and Jamie Jones (163) finished runners-up on countback from Mark Walker, Carl Hughes, Jonathan Gould and Dave Connolly.

Priors Hall

Ian Hunter was the player to beat in the third Seniors Eclectic competition at Priors Hall as he birdied the third and fifth holes on his way to a winning 11-hole total of 26 points.

Runner-up Gerry Cummins (24) maintained his good form into the opening Winter League Doubles competition four days later as he combined with Danny Callaghan to card the joint-second best score of 28 points.

John Lappin and Mark Hipkiss proved too strong for the field however as they bagged 29 to nudge a single point ahead of three pairings.

Overstone Park

Gross birdies on the third and sixth holes helped Dave Watson storm to victory in Overstone Park’s January Stableford as the 14-handicapper smashed an impressive tally of 45 points over just 16 holes. Ivan Neighbour (41) grabbed second by two from Steve Watkins.

Martin Swan was also in excellent touch a few days earlier in the Mid-week Stableford as the high-handicapper posted 42 points over the shortened course to finish three clear of Chris Cooke and Gordon Chiverton.

Rushden

Alex Furniss did just enough to claim first place in the fourth round of the Winter League at Rushden as he squeezed one in front of Steve Rimmer and Kevin Sheehan after shooting 40 points in the Sunday Stableford.

Mark McGrath, Stuart Emms and Mark Brown had led the standings after the opening day as they all came in with 38 points on Saturday.
