Emily Horsted has been named as the 2023 Young Volunteer of the Year award, in association with the Golf Foundation, at the England Golf Awards.
The Peterborough Milton member, who is also an England Golf Young Ambassador, was nominated for her efforts in promoting the game, especially supporting disabled youngsters from the Little Miracles charity to try golf at her home club.
After collecting the award from host presenter Clare Balding at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, the teenager received praise from Sky Sports TV’s Nick Dougherty, who tweeted: “Congratulations Emily!! Thoroughly deserved. Keep up the great work.”
Horsted responded on Twitter: “Amazing evening at the England Golf Awards and so grateful to have won the Young Volunteer of the year award. And thank you so much to Nick Dougherty for the very kind words.”
