Ladies European Tour

Charley Hull and Meghan MacLaren make their first appearances of the year on the Ladies European Tour this week as they compete in the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open at Saadiyat Beach in the United Arab Emirates.
The county duo will take on a field that includes 16 of the leading 20 LET players from last year as they look to press their claims for a place in Europe’s team in the Solheim Cup, which takes place at Gleneagles in September,
With Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthew and vice-captain Dame Laura Davies taking part, MacLaren will need to produce some impressive results during the 2019 season to gain automatic selection.
Chasing a top three finish in the Ladies European Tour standings to earn a pick, the Wellingborough golfer, who won in Australia in her rookie season in 2018, currently lies in 19th position.
By contrast, Hull already looks certain to make her fourth appearance in the biennial match against the USA as she sits in an automatic qualifying place through her world ranking of 24.
