Scratch League

Overstone Park went to the summit of the Scratch League table with an excellent 4-4 draw at reigning champions Northants County.

The visitors took the opening two points through Jack Binch and Lawrence Ryan, before the experienced duo of Richard Dalton and James Barker secured a draw by clinching games five and six with holes to spare.

Peterborough Milton remain well on course for an immediate return to the top flight after they made it three wins in three outings with a 7½-½ home success against Kettering.

Euan Herson, Adam Scott, Jake Brown, Rylan Thomas, Chris Savage, Tom Burgh and Adrian Firman all collected points for the hosts, while Charlie Armitage had to settle for a half.

The race to gain promotion out of the third tier looks set to go to the wire after Oundle secured a battling 3-3 draw at Rushden to maintain their unbeaten record. Michael Davidson, Graeme Eadie and Jack Logan picked up the away wins.

Handicap League

Northants County took a giant stride towards qualification for the quarter finals as they became the first team to record an away win in Group A as they thrashed Cherwell Edge 20-1.

The result never looked in doubt once Lee Ault and Steve Brightmore (eight holes) and Daniel Brightmore and Andy Cox (four holes) took the opening two ties as County moved clear at the top.

Farthingstone remain their closest challengers after losing a close away match with Brampton Heath by the remarkable scoreline of 3-1 a few days earlier.

Peterborough Milton missed an opportunity to move level with Overstone Park at the top of Group B as they drew 6-6 at home to local rivals Oundle.

Kingsthorpe look almost certain to finish first in Group D after collecting their second away victory of the campaign with a 11-2 win at Silverstone

Hollingsworth Trophy

Northants County will definitely have one team in the final of the Hollingsworth Trophy after their A and B sides set up a semi-final meeting by topping Groups C and B respectively.

The other last four tie will see Group A pacesetters Daventry take on Collingtree Park, who were the only club to progress through to the knockout stages with a perfect winning record.
