NGL Senior Men’s Championship

Alistair Heslop (Northants County) was crowned 2022 NGL Senior Men’s Champion after winning the re-arranged 18-hole competition by two strokes with a gross 74 at Wellingborough GC.

A run of nine consecutive gross pars at the start of his round provided the foundation for success as he claimed top spot ahead of Trevor Twelftree (Collingtree Park) and Andrew Sewell (Brampton Heath).

With the event being postponed from a few weeks earlier due to the extreme weather, home club member Jon Payne proved too hot to handle in the net category as he grabbed the President’s Trophy with a net 69.

Heslop was also part of the winning gross team as he combined with fellow County members Andy Billson and Brian O’Connell to shoot the leading total of 240.

The net team award went to Collingtree Park’s Liam Costello, Twelftree and Brendon Moss, who also carried away one of the three individual age category prizes.
