Ladies Cecil Leitch

Wellingborough made it through to the Ladies Cecil Leitch quarter-finals after edging a thrilling Group C away contest with Peterborough Milton by a single point.
Big away wins from Diane Dickinson and Susan Sharp were matched by Milton victories from Myra Landsburgh and Christine Goodall, meaning the result came down to the other three ties – all of which went the distance.
Rachael Fisher was successful for Peterborough, but Liz Rees responded for the visitors, before Jane Sisman sealed a magnificent Wellingborough win by taking the final game against Christine Macleod.
Cold Ashby have given themselves a great chance of qualifying for the quarters with a 6-1 home victory against Group A leaders Northampton, who have already guaranteed a last-eight place.
Although Sue Avison took the opening tie for Northampton, the hosts controlled the rest of the match as Sally Lawrenson, Pamela Kerr, Gillian Gaskell, Marguerite Kraus-Rudder, Ruth Sleigh and Julie Bott bagged the points.
With the top two going through to the knockout stages, Ashby will top Group A if they win at 2018 runners-up Northants County in their final match next month, while a 5-2 defeat will be enough to claim the runners-up spot.
