Hellidon Lakes
Ludlow Johnson and Philip Gray were once again the individual players to catch at the top of the leaderboard in the Hellidon Lakes Tigers Winter Merit League.
A week after finishing second to Gray in the 13th event of the season, Johnson reversed the placing in the latest competition as his round of 40 points edged him one ahead of his in-form rival. Ted Craig finished third on 37.
Farthingstone
Jeffery Sargent produced the best round in the latest Winter Bash competition at Farthingstone as he bagged a gross birdie on the ninth hole on his way to a winning score of 39 points.
Paul Dale claimed the runners-up prize on countback from John Aslett and Anthony Marriott after all three finished with 34 points.
Whittlebury Park
Gross pars on the closing four holes helped Mark James seal victory in the Whittlebury Park SNAGS AGM Competition as the 17-handicapper grabbed the honours with 41 points. Rob Watson was runner-up on 39.
Tracey Mann produced an outstanding performance in the Winter Ladies Nine-hole Stableford as she carded 21 points to finish eight ahead of Danielle Edwards and Christine Coles.
Staverton Park
Sharon Jones was successful in Staverton Park’s Ladies March Medal as a net 76 earned her a one stroke victory from Sue O’Hagan and Ann Cox.
The opening round of the Ladies Front Nine winter Series witnessed a comfortable win for Elaine Loydall a few days earlier as a tally of 19 points lifted her two clear of Denise Aitchison and Jackie Frampton.
Kingsthorpe
Forty nine points was a magnificent winning pairs score in the Captain v Vice Captains competition at Kingsthorpe as Maurice Lines and Dave Allcock grabbed the honours by one from Paul Botterill and Joe Cloake.
Daventry
David Harper secured first prize in Daventry’s fourth Winter Stableford as he shot 41 points to finish four clear of Garry Lenton, with Peter Daniels in third position on 36.
