Whittlebury Park

Forty seven points was the best total in the first round of the Whittlebury Park Men’s Winter Pairs League as Kev Thompson and Gez Jackson took the Bruton Plate event honours on countback from Nick Whitehead and Joe Bird.

Steve Bowers was successful in the October Men’s Nine-hole Stableford as his tally of 21 points lifted him one clear of Shaun Parker and Paul Wikeley. The ladies prize went to Danielle Edwards (16) on countback from Deborah Dixon.

Staverton Park

High-handicapper Chris Cotton fired a magnificent round of net 64 on the Sunday to clinch the November Medal at Staverton Park by a single stroke from Russell Brown.

Paul Johnson and Simon Kember had set the pace the previous day with a couple of rounds of 68.

Daventry

Terence Kempe’s score of 40 points was enough to claim top spot in the opening Winter Stableford at Daventry as he finished two ahead of runner-up Casey Cooper, with Garry Lenton in third on 37.

In the Pam’s Pot competition a couple of days later, Sara Harper claimed the plaudits on countback from Jacquie Bailey with 32 points.

Kingsthorpe

Adrian Fullthorpe and Neil Dunkley needed countback to secure the first prize in the opening Kingsthorpe Winter League event as they edged out Paul Warren and Matteo Decaro in the bogey competition after beating the course by eight holes.

Hellidon Lakes

James Symons bagged 38 points in the third round of the Hellidon Lakes Winter Merit League to win by one from Angus Watt, with Roy Trim a further point back in third.
