NGL Handicap League
Group B
Collingtree Park’s pursuit of a record eighth Handicap League crown received an early boost as they completed a 7-4 win at Peterborough Milton in their first match of 2018.
Although the reigning champions trailed by four holes early on, Jensen Parfitt and Iain Tait got them on the board with a three-hole success, before Alistair Biggin and Peter Owen levelled the scores with a narrow victory.
Collingtree Club captain Mark Cotton and David Messom gave the visitors an unassailable lead by taking the next match by three holes as the last game finished all square.
Group C
Oundle had just too much for Staverton Park in their opening match of the season as they recorded a 7-4 home victory.
A five-hole success from Adam Butler and Guiseppe Melia proved decisive for Oundle as there was little to choose between the two sides in the remaining five ties.
