NGL Hollingsworth Trophy

Group A
Northants County proved too strong for Cold Ashby at home in Group A as they recorded a collection of big wins in a 4-1 team victory.
Paul Harris and Rhys Taylor triumphed 7&6, Nick Beal and Brian O’Connell were successful with six holes to spare before Matthew Bird and Harry Larkins confirmed the win for the hosts on the 15th hole.
Although Ashby gained the honours in game four, it was only after Andy Billson and Andy Castell had added another point for County with a 7&6 thumping.
Silverstone moved to the top of the standings with a second victory out of three matches after collecting three points on the 18th hole in their home success over Daventry.

Group B
Brampton Heath had few problems in their opening fixture in Group B as they completed a 5-0 home whitewash against Oundle.
Brendan Kelly and Damien Heffernan (4&3) got the ball rolling in the first game, before Alec Francis and Mark Halliday added another point on the 18th.
Adrian Milward and Nigel Packer were successful 3&2, Elliott Metcalfe and Ben Morris came good on the closing hole, while Lee Bellham and Andy Sewell wrapped up the perfect day with a 3&2 victory.

Group D
Away wins remain scare in Group D after reigning champions Wellingborough dropped just a single point in beating Rushden at Harrowden Hall.
Chris Billson and Richard Brown secured the opening tie 4&2, before the hosts doubled their advantage when Richard Munns and County Matchplay champion Tiger Adams strolled in with a 5&4 victory under their belts.
Mark Brown and Michael Stephens got Rushden on the board with a 2&1 win, but any hopes of a remarkable comeback were quickly ended by Tim Veal and Martin Dalton (3&2), before Jon Harris and Mark Davis clinched the last point by the same scoreline.
