Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship
Kettering teenager Ashleigh Critchley will have enjoyed the experience, if not the result or the weather, of competing in the Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship at PGA Catalunya in Spain last week.
As one of the youngest players in the field, the 14-year-old struggled in the damp conditions as she finished ninth out of nine in a prestigious girls event, who previous winners include Curtis Cup winners Melissa Reid and Jodi Ewart.
Critchley, who qualified for the event after winning the Scottish Girls crown this summer, will take some comfort from the fact that she improved her score on each of the three days as she competed off the back tees.
