Cold Ashby Golf Centre were on hand to help Northampton Saints’ father and son Paul and James Grayson with their request to play a round of golf as they hosted the pair on Thursday.
With club fly half James Grayson desperate to find some relaxing time away from home, he sent a tweet on Wednesday enquiring if there were any Northamptonshire golf clubs allowing non-members to pay to play during the next few weeks.
Following a quick reply from Cold Ashby, who are now under new management, the paired turned up just 24 hours later, with the younger Grayson coming out on top in a ‘friendly’ match against the England 2003 World Cup winner.
James Grayson tweeted: “Lovely round @coldashbygc thanks for managing to squeeze us on! Always nice taking your Dads money as well, eh @paulgrayson10.”
