English Women’s Amateur Championship
Peterborough Milton’s Thalia Martin announced herself as one of the leading amateur golfers in the country after reaching the last 16 of the English Women’s Amateur Championship at Saunton GC, Devon.
Competing on the West Course, the former County Champion qualified for the knockout stages in 11th position after shooting rounds of 76 and 74.
Martin defeated Katie-Jane Stanley (The Manchester) on the first extra hole in her opening match, before missing out on a quarter-final spot with a loss on the 18th hole to Ellen Hume (Mill Green), who went on to lift the title.
