Wellingborough

Chris Dickens and Liz Palmer emphasised their status as the players to beat in Mixed competitions at Wellingborough as they made it three victories out of three this year.

In partnership with David Birkett, Helen Marriott, Martyn Smith and June Smith, the in-form duo smashed an exceptional team total of 74 points in the early February competition to finish seven clear of the closest challengers.

Priors Hall

Tom O’Donnell produced the standout round in the fifth week of the Seniors Eclectic at Priors Hall as he bagged an impressive tally of 28 points over 11 holes. Colin Dulson, Michael O’Sullivan and Michael Greasley were next on 25 apiece.

A single point was the margin of victory a few days later in the third round of the Winter League Doubles as Brendan Breslin and Paul Breslin took the plaudits with 29.

Martin Holmes and Chris York finished runners-up on countback from Craig Toseland and Nick Toseland, Nick Lazic and Ian Hunter, while Jim Collins and Michael Sawford also finished on the same mark.

Rushden

Johanna Beech won the Ladies February Nine-hole Stableford at Rushden by a single point from Mirian O’Reilly and Sue Pearson.

Overstone Park

Giuseppe Memoli and Connie Stonestreet emphasised their talent by shooting the joint-best score of 21 points in the latest nine-hole Junior Order of Merit competition.

Fellow teenager Oliver Godwin was also in great touch in the February Medal a few days later as he grabbed the honours on countback from Scratch team captain Ryan Genner with a 16-hole score of net 62. Leomelia Davis won the ladies prize.

Connie Stonestreet (Overstone)
