Priors Hall

Forty two points was the leading score in the latest couple of March Stableford competitions at Priors Hall as Scott Gordon and John McConnell both recorded two-point wins.

Gordon held off the challenge of Tam Ferns and Robert Draper in the Men’s event, while a birdie on the 18th hole helped McConnell edge ahead of in-form Michael Sawford and Gerry Cummins in the Seniors tournament.

Overstone Park

Anthony Bruce completed the 16-hole course at Overstone Park in gross one over par in the March Mid-week Medal as he took the honours with a net 61.

The minor places were all claimed by high-handicappers as Peter Thorpe (63) took second by two strokes from Ivan Neighbour, who beat Ivan Roy and Dave Bright on countback.

Rushden

Three points was the margin of success in the seventh round of the Rushden Winter League as Kevin Armstrong grabbed the plaudits with an excellent score of 43 on the opening day.

Karl Freeman and David Mayes, who compiled his round 24 hours later, came closest to catching the runaway pacesetter.

Wellingborough

Carol Gibbs, Carole Cornforth and Liz Rees enjoyed a comprehensive 10-point victory in the Ladies 3-2-1 Waltz Competition at Wellingborough.

Ladies Vice-Captain Miriam Johnson, Gill Snelson and Ellen Steel (50) finished runners-up on countback from Sally McKeown, Pat Dawson and Jackie Mudd.
