An under-strength Peterborough Milton side made a winning start to their NGL Hollingsworth Trophy campaign as they recorded a 4-1 home victory against Whittlebury Park.
Sam Ludlow and Nathan Holt took the opening point on the 18th hole, before Ian Symonds and Howard Boylan doubled Milton’s advantage as they also triumphed down the last.
Teenagers Jacob Williams and Lorenzo Chapman wrapped up the victory for Peterborough with a 3&2 win in game three, before the final two points were shared.
Overstone Park wasted little time in getting their Hollingsworth Trophy season off to a positive start as they completed an excellent 4-1 away success at Silverstone.
Ryan Genner and Andrew Hopkinson strolled to a 7&6 win, Lawrence Ryan and Fraser Carnihan added another point on the penultimate hole, before Lee Hitchcock and Ian Kennedy confirmed the team victory with a couple of hours to spare.
Overstone, who also won their opening away fixture last season 4-1, clinched the next game through James Barker and Adam Sandle, before Silverstone prevented a whitewash defeat by securing the last point.
