Priors Hall

Birdies on the first, third and 11th holes helped Steven Tiley claim top spot in the fifth week of the Priors Hall Winter League as he carded an excellent 11-hole total of 30 points. Gary Torrance, Thomas Smith and Gerry Cummins all bagged 28.

Stephen Etheridge was the player to catch in the fifth Seniors Winter Eclectic as he compiled 27 points to nudge one clear of Richard Smith and Fran Magee.

Rushden

Forty one points was a superb winning score in the Rushden Mixed Stableford as Jim Bradshaw bagged the honours by six from David Mayes.

Charley Thompson was successful in the Captain’s Drive-In competition as a tally of 40 points clinched the Christmas Cup by two from Scott Holland.

Overstone Park

Ben Smith beat Roland Gray on countback in the Overstone Park December Medal after shooting a round of net 66. The 10-handicapper grabbed the plaudits after completing his last 11 holes in gross one over par.

Countback was also needed in the Ladies Medal as Kerry Hambleton edged out Leomelia Davis thanks to a stronger back nine in a net 75.

Wellingborough

Sue Sharpe’s 12-hole total of 22 points secured first place in Wellingborough’s Ladies December Stableford as she finished one ahead of fellow mid-handicapper Judith Chapman and third division duo Maggie Etheridge and Jane Sisman.
