Kingsthorpe

Bob Lees and Bob Wright were successful in the opening competition of the year at Kingsthorpe as the duo bagged a winning tally of 48 points in the Bob Adey Classic.

Jason Withrington and Neil Picton finished second on countback from Greg Meagher and Joe Treacy (47).

A few days later it was the turn of Paul Tupai and Mike Spence to claim the top prize as they lifted the Christmas Cup by two from Mark Todkill and his partner after posting 43 points.

Collingtree Park

Josh Bland did just enough to claim first prize in the first Junior event of the year at Collingtree Park as he won the January 12-hole competition by one point from Lucy Haywood (20).

The 150-yard competition witnessed an exceptional winning seven-hole score of 20 points from Jessica Walker as she finished two ahead of Alastair Jay.

Hellidon Lakes

Gavin Aris secured top spot in the January Medal at Hellidon Lakes as he grabbed a single stroke win from Ludlow Johnson with a round of net 72.

One was also the margin of victory in the ninth Tigers Winter Merit League event as Rick Francis (44 points) edged out Tony Shortt.

Whittlebury Park

Ten gross pars were on the winning scorecard of Bertie Edwards in the latest 9 O’Clock Club Competition at Whittlebury Park.

The 10-handicapper was particularly strong over the inward stretch as he clinched the Brian Jarrett Boot on countback from Rob Morgan with 36 points.

Staverton Park

Jamie Humphries came in with the best round of net 66 in the Staverton Park January Medal as he nudged one clear of Russell Brown, with Peter Trueman a further shot back in third position.

Farthingstone

Forty four points was a superb winning total in the Farthingstone January Stableford as high-handicapper Mark Duckworth grabbed the plaudits by four from Simon Nightingale, with Michael Barnett taking third on 37.

Daventry

Tom Green fired a magnificent winning round of net 53 in the fourth Winter Medal at Daventry as he secured the honours by seven from Tyrone Power. Third spot went to James Berry (72).
