Overstone Park

Luke Tibble enjoyed the challenge of playing with a lighter bag at Overstone Park as he won the Three Clubs and a Putter Competition on countback from Andrew Dunmore with 19 points over nine holes on New Years Day.

With the fourth and fifth holes out of action the following weekend, Jay Vierya carded consecutive gross eagles on the third and sixth holes on his way to a brilliant January Medal winning score of net 55.

The eight-handicapper went on to finish one shot ahead of Luke Dunmore in the 16-hole competition, with Phil Gardner in third place on 58. Gill Hodgson carded the best ladies score of 69.

Rushden

Andrew Parry compiled the leading score of 35 points in Rushden’s Midweek January Stableford as he finished one ahead of Jonathan Seddon.

In the Ladies Nine-hole Stableford on the same day, Sue Stott (17) took the honours by a couple of points from Laura Gant.

Priors Hall

Countback was a necessity in the ninth week of the Priors Hall Winter League after four players came in with the leading mark of 24 points over 11 holes. Tommy Sheridan gained the verdict from Charles Frost, Robert Muir and James Allison.

Danny Callaghan carded the same score in the opening Seniors Eclectic competition of the year to squeeze one in front of Nigel Ougham.

Wellingborough

Mark Walker and Carl Hughes produced a dominant performance in the latest Mixed Competition at Wellingborough as they grabbed the Kelly Bowls with 43 points. Robin Everard and his partner were one of four pairings to finish four points off the pace.

Carole Cornforth shot the best score of 24 points in the Ladies Four Clubs and a Putter Stableford as she nudged one ahead of Josie Patrick.
