Daventry

Becki Scott was the only player to match their handicap in the Daventry Turkey Trot Stableford as she carded 36 points to finish three ahead of Tom Green on New Year’s Day.

In the Hangover Competition the following day, Jason Smith secured the plaudits by one from David Harper with a nine-hole tally of 19 points.

Whittlebury Park

Rob Morgan won the last 9 O’Clock Club competition of the year at Whittlebury Park as a tally of 39 points pushed him three ahead of Stephen Pendlebury and Gordon Hewett.

Terry Greenough clinched top spot in the opening 9 O’Clock Club competition of 2023 at Whittlebury Park as a score of 35 points lifted the 17-handicapper two clear of Alan Mustoe.

Staverton Park

Jim Sutherland enjoyed a three-point advantage from Daniel Smith and Tom Langhorn (both 18) in Staverton Park’s Boxing Day Nine-hole Competition. Jackie Strangwood (21) won the women’s prize from Sharon Jones.

In the New Year’s Day Two Clubs and a Putter event, Luke Chard needed countback to get the better of Martin Fallows with 19 points, while Janet Lambdon clinched the women’s plaudit from Jones.

Hellidon Lakes

Richard Harcock was successful in the last Tigers Winter Merit League of the year at Hellidon Lakes as he carded 35 point to nudge one ahead of Ludlow Johnson and Richard Barnes in the eighth round.

Kingsthorpe

An excellent total of 105 points sealed first place in the Martin Letts Memorial Day at Kingsthorpe as Russ Beadsmore’s team took the honours. Paul Tupai’s line finished runners-up on 103, with the side led by Dale Betts finished third on 100.
