Junior Team Final Qualifying

Peterborough Milton’s juniors saw their hopes of progressing to another England Final and retaining the Junior Team title they won in 2020 and 2021,thwarted as they finished fourth in final qualifying at Seaton Carew GC.

Competing in windy conditions, the line-up of Euan Herson, Kai Raymond, Jacob Williams, Charlie Pearce, Chelsey Sharp and Rylan Thomas struggled on the North East links, particularly when competing against sides with more shots.

Whilst the winning team on the day, Thirsk and Northallerton, posted net scores in the 70’s, and a best gross of 80, Milton’s results averaged in the mid-80s, both gross and net.

Having clinched the regional qualifier comfortably a fortnight ago, as well as winning the BCCS Junior Team KO Final last month, the Milton team have enjoyed another incredible season, according to junior Organiser Derek Mankelow.

He said: “It’s impossible to sum up completely what this team and its previous members have achieved in the last few years but these players have been on an incredible journey and absolutely amazing to watch achieving success after success.

“Our Juniors have had another incredible season competing at the highest level in a number of different team competitions. They are a credit to their Club, the County and to their families, of course.”
