Group B
Cold Ashby’s strong middle order made all the difference in their home clash with Kingsthorpe as they helped the team record a 13-6 victory in the first outing in Group A.
The visitors took the opening tie by four holes, but Ashby quickly responded with four successive wins, the last of which from Colin Bell and Jon Pycraft (six holes) took the contest beyond Kingsthorpe.

Group C
Kane Attley and Michael Stephens set the tone for Rushden in their opening Group C home clash with Farthingstone as they strolled to a 10-hole success in the opening tie as the hosts claimed a 21-4 win.
Although the away side reduced the arrears with a couple of victories in games one and four and a halved match, Rushden pulled clear thanks to Mark Brown and Stuart Carvell (six holes) and Ian Green and John Newshamb (five holes).
Silverstone were also successful in the same section as they completed a 15-0 home whitewash over an under-strength Northampton.
Matt Bishop and Simon Orrey (five holes) got the ball rolling in game one, before John Hallett and Peter Sapey ended any hopes of an unlikely Northampton comeback with a seven-hole victory in the fourth tie.

Group D
Mark Morse and Paul Durant’s six-hole success in the opening tie sent Cherwell Edge on the way to a 10-0 victory against Overstone Park in Group D.
Geoffrey Stone and his partner took the next tie by two holes, before the hosts extended their advantage a little further with two more narrow wins and a couple of halves in the remaining four games.
