NGL Hollingsworth Trophy

Group A
Northants County became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals after securing an excellent 3-2 victory at Daventry.
With no other club in Group A having recorded an away win, County made a brilliant start as Rhys Taylor and Paul Harris strolled in with a 5&4 victory under their belts before Daniel Roberts and Corey Neville doubled the lead by taking the 17th hole.
Although Daventry did claim two late points it was too late to affect the result as Luis Witherall and Simon Blundell had already sealed the away victory with another comprehensive win.
Priors Hall completed an unsuccessful qualifying campaign on a high as they recorded a 3-2 home victory against Cold Ashby. Jim Collins and Tom O’Donnell were the stand out home combination with a 9&8 win.

Group B
Staverton Park made it three wins out of three with a home whitewash of Oundle, who have now lost all three of their matches this season.
Once Miles Mudge and Stuart Trigwell strolled in with a 6&5 victory under their belts, a Staverton win never looked in doubt as they secured all the other four points without any pairing reaching the 17th tee.
Brampton Heath maintained their chances of pipping Staverton to top spot as they made it two wins out of two with a battling 3-2 victory at Farthingstone.
Alec Francis and Elliott Metcalfe won game one on the closing hole for Brampton, Gary McAllister and Andrew Sewell (3&2) doubled the lead, before Adrian Milward and Steve Holt wrapped up the away victory by taking the 18th hole in the next tie.
With points difference possible being decisive in the race to grab first place, the visitors will be disappointed that they lost both the remaining two matches by the scoreline 3&2.
