Tributes paid to inspirational Teena
Northamptonshire Golf has lost one of its most popular and familiar faces after County Events Desk Coordinator Teena Marshall passed away after a long battle against illness.
The Wellingborough member was well known for her Eccles cakes as she also helped run the halfway hut at the Harrowden Hall course with her husband Ian, who is a former County President.
NGL Competitions Director Marcel Aarts said: “Teena was an ever present supporter of County golf especially the Junior sections within Northamptonshire.
“She always supported Ian during his activities with the County as President and other functions, and was forever by my side supporting our County golf competitions.
“Teena has suffered illness for a long time but she was a true inspiration to us all especially the way she battled on and supported everyone else. She will be greatly missed.”
Northamptonshire’s European Challenge Tour professional Ryan Evans tweeted: “Such sad news finding out one of the nicest ladies out there Teena Marshall has passed away. Always a great supporter of mine and many others. From all she did for the NGU and Wellingborough GC we will always be thankful. Greeted everyone with a smile. RIP Teena.”
