Women’s British Open

Meghan MacLaren made the cut in a major tournament for the first time in her career as she finished in 63rd spot at the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes GC.
The Wellingborough pro, who won the New South Wales Open in Australia earlier in the season, carded scores of 73 and 72 to book her place at the weekend, before adding rounds of 72 and an inconsistent 80.
In a tournament won by fellow English golfer Georgia Hall, Kettering’s Charley Hull bagged four birdies on the back nine in an opening 71, but she struggled to find her best as she missed the cut with a second round 78.
