World DP Tour

Leading County professional Ryan Evans recorded his best result on Tour this year as he finished in a tie for 20th position in the ISPS Handa World Invitational on the DP World Tour in Northern Ireland.

The Wellingborough golfer, who has been playing on the European Challenge Tour this season, carded six birdies in an opening round of 66 at Galgorm Castle GC before making the cut with a 71 on the second day at Massereene GC.

Despite struggling for consistency in a third round 73, Evans regained his touch on the last day as he bagged four birdies and just one bogey in a closing 67.

In the ladies competition, which was played simultaneously, fellow Wellingborough pro Meghan MacLaren made her first cut since late June as she compiled scores of 70, 72, 72 and 70 to finish tied 18th.
