County trio up for England Golf Awards

NGL President Jack Marr says all the county will be rooting for Adam Chamberlain, Eloise Feely and Whittlebury Park when they go for glory in the 2022 England Golf Awards next week.

Peterborough Milton professional Chamberlain has been nominated for Participation and Development Coach of the Year, while Northants County teenager Feely has been shortlisted for Young Ambassador of the Year.

Whittlebury Park, meanwhile, are up for the Tournament Venue of the Year after successfully hosting the English Open for Golfers with a Disability last season.

Marr said: “All three nominations reflect well on Northamptonshire Golf as a whole. Whittlebury Park did a fantastic job hosting a unique national event, which is fair play to them.

“Eloise is a great young golfer and ambassador for Club and County, while Adam is doing a superb job at Peterborough Milton – the enthusiasm that he brings to the place.

“You can see the way that Adam talks to the kids, alongside Derek Mankelow and Charles Gunn, the way they work with the kids is fantastic.

“It’s the same with Brian Mudge at Overstone Park – it’s like a Pied Piper how they just follow him, and it’s similar at other clubs like Kettering, which can only be positive for golf in this county. We hope they all have a great evening.”
