Kingsthorpe

Bob Wright beat fellow Kingthorpe mid-handicappers Adam Malin and Martin Stockwell by a single stroke in the March Medal as he lifted the Alfa Romeo Shield with a net 64.

Ian Townsend (67) and Gavin Stockwell (68), meanwhile, were the players to catch in the first and third divisions respectively.

The Seniors Stableford Qualifier went to Richard Johnson (39 points) a few days earlier as he nudged one in front of Nigel Cole.

Staverton Park

One point was the margin of success in Staverton Park’s Men’s March Stableford as William Montgomery (40) held off the challenge of Stephen Hatfield, with Craig Cotterill a further point off the pace in third.

Sharon Jones (35) got the better of Doreen Morrison on countback in the Ladies March Stableford, with Samantha Harding in third on 34.

Farthingstone

Dave Jones enjoyed a comfortable victory in the Winter Bash competition at Farthingstone as he compiled an impressive tally of 41 points.

The 10-handicapper completed his last 13 holes in gross level par to finish six points clear of runner-up Steve Roberts, with five players a point further adrift.

Hellidon Lakes

Forty seven points was a magnificent winning score in the opening Hellidon Lakes Tiger Summer Eclectic competition as Rick Francis made a stunning start to the year. Philip Gray (38) was runner-up on countback from Angus Watt.

Daventry

Countback was needed in the fifth Winter Stableford at Daventry after James Berry and Alfred Chessum both compiled the leading tally of 37 points. The former gained the verdict, with Daniel Haynes in third on 36.

Whittlebury Park

Ed Tate enjoyed a convincing victory in the opening R&A Nine-Hole Challenge at Whittlebury Park after shooting 24 points. A birdie on the fifth hole in a one-over-par gross round secured a four-point success from Tracey Heavey.
