Daventry

Jack Cooper’s nine-hole total of 20 points clinched top spot in the first Wednesday Night Thrash competition of the season at Daventry as he nudged on in front of Tim Scull, with Malcolm Bunker in third on 18.

Scull maintained his good form into the Roy Ellis Memorial Trophy as his team secured a countback victory from Chris Poolton’s side after shooting the best round of 45 points.

Kingsthorpe

Nita Pryer secured a countback victory from Ann Wyatt in Kingsthorpe’s Ladies Put and Take competition after both came in with the best nine-hole round of net 35. Nicola Bandey finished third on 36.

Martin Stockwell’s quartet came out on top in the Rodwell Boswell Challenge after compiling an impressive total of 93 points. Paul Botterill’s team carded 87 to finish runners-up by five from Leigh Woodward’s side.

Whittlebury Park

Half a dozen points was the margin of victory in the Atrium Cup at Whittlebury Park as David Wood, Philip Bearman, Paul Austin and Steve Orrey (126) took the honours.

Richard Euerby, Adam Huckle, James Barratt and Steven Jones clinched second place on countback from Tracey Heavey, Phil Heavey, Clare Davies and Shaun Davies.

David Owen’s gross par on the last hole proved crucial in the latest R&A Nine-Hole Challenge at Whittlebury Park as he defeated Andrew Garner on countback with 20 points apiece. Mark Humphreys was third on 19.

Farthingstone

Robin Slough overcame a slight wobble towards the end of the first round of Farthingstone’s Seniors Chairman’s Cup as he secured first prize with a score of 38 points.

The runners-up position went to Andy Harrison (36) by a single point from Michael Hitchman and Michael Barnett.

Staverton Park

Charles Smedley claimed first prize in Staverton Park’s delayed Seniors Turkey Trot Stableford as his tally of 42 points pushed him two clear of Ray Smith and Trevor Morris.

One point was the margin of victory in the first Tuesday Night Stableford of the season as Matt Walker (19) squeezed in front of Adrian Thompson and Tom Sawyer.
