MacLaren misses out on LPGA Tour card
LPGA Tour Q School
Wellingborough professional Meghan MacLaren came up just short in her bid to secure a LPGA Tour card for 2022 as she missed out by three shots in Q School at two different courses on the Alabama Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, USA.
After progressing through the opening stage at Magnolia Grove with a four-round total of 283 last week, MacLaren made a steady start to the final event at Highland Oaks as she posted scores of 71 and 74.
With the top 45 and ties gaining playing rights on the LPGA Tour next season, the 27-year-old made a sensational start to day three as she birdied her opening two holes before bagging a hole-in-one a couple of holes later in a round of 70.
Despite sitting in a qualification spot going into the last round, it quickly went wrong for the two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour as she double bogeyed her first two holes on her way to a closing 75.
