NGL Handicap League – Semi-Finals

Collingtree Park will meet Farthingstone in the Handicap League final on Sunday after they defeated Hellidon Lakes 10-3 and Wellingborough 12-6 respectively in their last four contests.
Chasing a third team victory in the last five years, Collingtree’s progression was based around an eight-hole success from Michael McGuinness and Iain Tait in game three as the other five ties were much closer.
With three matches finishing all square, Craig Hartwright and Jody Parfitt added a two-hole win for the 2015 and 2017 champions, before Hellidon’s Mike Thomas and Anthony Buck had the consolation of taking the final tie by three holes.
The margins of victory also proved decisive for Farthingstone in their semi-final with Wellingborough after both sides won three games apiece.
Although Wellingborough remained competitive in most of the matches, Richard Hook and David Summerfield’s seven-hole victory in game two, plus wins in the last two ties, meant Farthingstone took the honours.
