Hole-in-One Challenge

Pytchley Golf Lodge professional Dan Ashcroft came agonisingly close to hitting his target of carding a hole-in-one with one of 500 attempts at his home club.
Although Ashcroft was unable to find the bottom of the cup at the ninth hole, he enjoyed the unusual challenge as he raised over £1000 for charity.

He admitted: “I struck 500 pitching wedges to a front left flag measuring 139 yards away, with an annoying wind off the left. The emotions ran high and low like never before as it took me three hours and 40 minutes.
“I hit the flag five times, had two lip outs and on my 475th attempt, I slam dunked the ball, and it came back out!
“However we did still raise over a grand for Haemophilia Society, so it was still a very successful day. Thanks to everyone for getting involved.”
